Scholarship

The following explains the set up of the scholarships:

1. For what specifically can the funds be used?

Funds can be used to assist with participation in AACN-sponsored professional educationsl program (chapter(s) &/or national)
Examples are CCRN Reviews, GMAC or other chapter educational offerings

Funds can be used to purchase study material. Examples are CCRN, PCCN and CCNS study materials. See the AACN.org web site for items sold.

Dues for AACN &/or GMAC

2. Who can apply for thses scholarships?

Registered Nurses

Current local members of GMAC

Elected officers are ineligible to apply while serving their office

3. What is required for application?

The point spreadsheet showing accumulated points

Supporting evidence for points claimed: Please use the "Validation Form" for this

Proof of licensure

Brief narrative stating how it will help one's role as an RN &/or GMAC member/volunteer

4. How much will be awarded? It will be based on the most accumulated points

One applicant will be awarded approximately $200

Two applicants will receive approximayely $100.

5. How often will funds be awarded?

Once a calendar year

The time span covered by the scholarship is Jan-Nov. Applications must be in by November 1st so that the scholarship may be awarded at the December Quarterly Meeting.

Recipients may apply again once every two years.

Once funds have been awarded, GMAC asks that award recipients validate that the funds were used appropriately.
